Reframe Workshop with Article 19


Comics creators are invited to a free workshop organised in association with Articlev 19 and involving Hannah Berry, Ilya, Daniel Locke & visiting Reframe creators from Algeria and Turkey. Places are limited so please book by emailing Lauren Mooney on Lauren[at]freewordcentre.com Reframe is supported by the European Cultural Foundation and Arts Council England.

Reframe Workshop: Art + Awareness + Advocacy + Action

Objectives:
to provide practical training on FOE awareness in a workshop to 10 artists from the 3 countries featuring in the exhibition (awareness)
to encourage these graphic artists to share their knowledge and experience of A19 and establish networks of contacts (advocacy)
to encourage these graphic artists to use their art in advocacy (action)

The workshop will be conducted in interactive fashion to enable sharing and exchange of ideas (rather than in lecture/presentations setting)

13:00 – 13:30: Welcome and introductions
Chair: Barbora Bukovska

13:30- 14:15 – Art in questions and answers
Interactive discussion on the role of freedom of expression and artistic expression for the society, with a view of establishing framework for cooperation
Facilitator: Ayden Peach

14:15 – 15:15 Art in action
Two working groups, each developing proposal for action
Facilitators: Barbora Bukovska and Ayden Peach

15:15 – 16:00 Looking ahead
Reporting from the working groups, discussion on follow up and closing
