Posy Simmonds: Comedies of English Manners

Few writers or artists have chronicled Britain’s ever-changing clashes of class and cultures with such laser-sharp precision as The Guardian‘s cartoonist Posy Simmonds. From her weekly strips centred round the Weber family or slices of Literary Life to her gripping serials Gemma Bovery and Tamara Drewe inspired by Flaubert and Hardy, Posy is our undisputed Grande Dame of graphic novels. She talks and draws in conversation with Paul Gravett, co-director of Comica Festival and curator of her first major one-woman retrospective in Brussels.
