Shaun Tan & Quentin Blake in Comica Conversation!

Posted: July 31, 2012

Tickets are £8, available from the Box Office - TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT!!

For the first time ever, two of the greatest contemporary cartoonists and children’s books illustrators, Shaun Tan and Quentin Blake, meet each other for an exclusive Comica Conversation at the conveniently central St Albans Centre, Leigh Place, Baldwin Gardens, off Gray’s Inn Road, Chancery Lane, London EC1N 7AB (closest tube Chancery Lane on the Central Line) on Monday August 27th.

Shaun Tan is the Oscar-winning creator of The Lost Thing animated film based on his book, and author of The Arrival (below), selected as best graphic novel of year by the Angoulême International |Comics Festival. You can read Paul Gravett’s interview with Tan from last year online here.

Quentin Blake is renowned for his illustrations of Roald Dahl’s much-loved stories, as well as The Sad Book written by Michael Rosen and his own wordless graphic novel, Clown (below). As well as discussing their careers and techniques, both artists will also be drawing together live on a big screen.

Here is the link to the Facebook Event Page for this very special evening. Doors at The St. Albans Centre (where we held a previous highly popular Comica Conversation earlier this year between Craig Thompson and Marcel Theroux) burst open to the public from 6.45pm for a 7pm start, with both artists signing their books afterwards.

Tickets are £8, available from the Box Office - book yours now to avoid disappointment! This event supports Comica Festival, a not-for-profit Social Enterprise ‘putting comics first!’
